BLACKFIRE
Blackfire are an Australian indigenous band, formed in Melbourne in late 1992. Blackfire played and toured nationally and internationally for 12 years, before the band came to a slow stop in 1999.
All the guys went their own ways and did other things, however, the band never officially split up. They took a well earned break.
From about 2018 onwards, the band would get back together every now and again to play one off shows. After Covid, the fire in the belly returned for original members Selwyn Burns, Grant Hansen and Brad Brown.
They recruited the new members Radical Son - David Leha on Lead Vocals, Peter Moore on Drums and Rod Crundwell on Keys .
Monica McDonald and Leonie Whyman were added to provide backing vocals & percussion after the release of their third album ‘Regeneration.’ Daniel Jauregui was added on second Lead Guitar to add a bigger, fatter sound to the original Blackfire sound.
Blackfire are back in a big way and their new album has been well received. The live gigs are something to see.
A new album with the current line-up is planned for later on in 2024. Stay tuned for some big shows coming your way from Blackfire!
