NAMAZU

NAMAZU have been damaging eardrums since 2014. Birthed from the dirty streets of Memphis, Tennessee— as RIPPLE MUSIC said about the boys: “Oh man, such a refreshing listen in the world we live in nestled deep in the heavy underground. Combining the best aspects of sludgy hardcore and punk with a groove oriented rock n roll backbone, Namazu have cited a superior work of heavy music avoiding cliché trends and overused riff worship.”

Over the past ten years, NAMAZU have shared the stage with Pike VS the Automaton, Whores, Elder, Big Business, Conan, Nebula, Weedeater, Sasquatch, Howling Giant, Truckfighters, Black Tusk, Wrong, Kylesa, Monolord, Valley of the Sun, Witch Mountain, King Buffalo, Earthless, Green Druid…

NAMAZU were raised on Southern rock, harcore punk, and heavy metal. Their debut album Works Cited whipped those influences into a perfect storm of audio karate.

OUTLAWS OF THE SUN said, “NAMAZU’s debut album is brilliantly entertaining violent fun that grabs the listener by the scruff of their neck and makes damn sure they are treated to some intense riffage for the next 40 mins or so.” MAXIMUM METAL got what the boys were laying down when they said, “Furious cut ‘Dragged Fighting from his Tomb’ is symbolic of the band and album sound – driving rhythm, breakneck riffage, noisy mix.” The full bore assault on hearing was put succinctly by NEW NOISE MAGAZINE: “The group’s first release is a groovin’ good time, straddling the line between sludge, post-hardcore, and heavy rock ‘n’ roll.”

NAMAZU are stoked to release their new EP ICE 800 with Golden Robot Records, a marriage made in heavy metal heaven
