HIGH EARLY
High Early is an original rock band hailing from the Cleveland/Akron, Ohio area. The group was founded by Al Periandri (aka TACKLE) from Cleveland and Brian Besserman (aka BESS) from Akron. The duo launched the project a few years ago after the dissolution of their previous band.
For over a decade, TACKLE and BESS played together, with TACKLE as the drummer. When their former band came to an end, TACKLE made a bold shift: he picked up the guitar and began writing and playing with relentless dedication. Determined to reinvent himself as a lead vocalist and guitarist, he drew inspiration from legendary classic and grunge rock bands such as Jimi Hendrix, Motörhead, Cream, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, and Nirvana, among others.
After years of honing their craft, High Early was born—a band that embodies pure passion, intensity, and the raw integrity of rock ‘n’ roll.
Being born and raised in Cleveland, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Capital of the World, TACKLE has always lived, dreamed, and breathed rock ‘n’ roll, proudly representing his hometown’s rich musical heritage.
Fun Fact: The name High Early is inspired by a high-strength concrete used in construction. As a cement mason with over 20 years of experience in the trade, Al Periandri combined his professional background with his passion for music to create a name that reflects strength, resilience, and the enduring spirit of rock.
