Golden Robot Records was founded over a decade ago with a simple but powerful vision: to create a label that champions real music, artist integrity, and global reach. What began with a single release - the debut of Moon, fronted by Jagger Alexander-Erber - has since evolved into one of the most dynamic and globally recognised independent record companies in the world.
From its humble beginnings, Golden Robot Global Entertainment has grown into a true international powerhouse in the independent music space. In just ten years, the group has released over 1,000 albums, EPs, and singles, working with artists from Australia, the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Europe, South America, and beyond. This remarkable output is a reflection of both the label’s passion and its ability to identify and nurture talent across a wide range of musical genres.
Throughout this journey, Golden Robot Records has consistently delivered chart-topping releases, including multiple #1s across international territories, cementing its reputation as a serious player on the global stage. Its artists have performed on major festival stages, toured the world, and built loyal fanbases - all with the support of a label that prioritises long-term development over quick wins.
The label's global infrastructure has allowed it to build a wide-reaching distribution and promotional network, partnering with The Orchard (Sony Music) for worldwide digital and physical distribution. This has enabled Golden Robot to scale rapidly, maintaining a truly global presence while staying independent at heart.
In its first decade, Golden Robot developed a multi-label structure to accommodate its rapid growth and diverse roster (Crusader Records, Coffin and Bolt Records, Bread and Butter Records, Riot Records, Scratches Records, X-Ray Records, Counter Clockwise Records, Yama Records, Archangel Records, Social Family Records, Iron Head Records and Die Laughing Records), releasing a wide range of music across numerous imprints. Now, following years of major international expansion and brand building, the company is entering a new era - one that focuses on quality over quantity.
Golden Robot has refined its operations to centre around two primary arms:
- Golden Robot Records - the core label, now taking a more boutique and selective approach to artist partnerships, ensuring each act receives dedicated attention, marketing, and strategic development.
- Robot Distro - a flexible, artist-friendly distribution platform designed to support independent artists and labels with robust tools and access to global markets.
This transition reflects a deliberate shift in ethos: away from volume-based expansion and toward a more curated, sustainable, and artist-centric model that leverages the label’s global experience, infrastructure, and reach - while providing a more focused and personalised service to its roster.
